Here We Are...
Our first goal is to simply spread the message of love through Yume. We believe that this should be simple and free. If you join the mailing list you will get a weekly email reminder to love, share, smile, be kind to yourself ect. As well, free Yume coloring books for kids to download that encourage sharing, kindness, positive thinking and healing. Our second goal is to share through any donation t-shirt profits or flat donations.
All money generated by the donations goes back into the community. Yes 100%, will go into the profit projects (below).
A nonprofit entity has a mission that benefits the "greater good" of the community, society, or the world. This is what we hope to do.
Profit Projects - We need your help in allocating resources in your community, no matter where you live. We need to know about people/children/animals that are in need of basic necessities. If you have suggestions, we will ask that you volunteer your time to help us deliver the resources, and help spread the love! Remember, there is no order of magnitude when it comes to helping others, a smile to someone who needs it can be just as impactful as a helping feed a family. It is just a matter of making the decision to do it, and wearing your heart on your sleeve. We will0 not make flat donations to other organizations. The goal of HH is to get people like You-Me to do some research, roll up our sleeves and get into the community and help in a hands-on fashion. We feel our money is well spent if we are buying healthy food, clothing or shelter and establishing a human connection. Let us know if you would like to join the HighHeart Yume Team and volunteer in the name of HighHeart. You will get a free t-shirt and your picture and profile will go on our site, listing what you have done to spread love.
- All profits ($700.00) from the HighHeart Holiday Hoopla will go to YWCA of Boulder and Tashi King. We have chosen to purchase King Sooper Gift Cards in $50 dollar increments to distribute to families in need. We were able to buy 10 - $50 cards, with thanks to all of the people who attended the event . We are also giving $200.00 to Tashi King's efforts and fight against breast cancer.
- As well, we are volunteering ( aside from the volunteer time that goes into the art) for Tashi King http://www.tashiking.blogspot.com/ and helping her get to her goal to beat cancer. Look for Diva at the benefit breakfast! She will be doing the kid's face paintings!
- Our next creative effort is to create free downloadable PDF Yume coloring books for kids. You should see those on our site sometime before March 2010.
- We also are giving t-shirts to the volunteers who spread love around the community in the name of HighHeart. Look for the page that will list the volunteers and their stories soon.
- Lastly, we would also like to order Yume stickers to stick on everything!
The Artist, Julie Cobb
Better known as Cobb Salad....It was not until some much needed coercing from Amy Ash, that I was confident enough to share my art. My favorite quote is one by Marianne Williamson that includes a line that says " And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same". So with that in mind.. HighHeart began and low and behold, Yume was born. I am painting when I am not working for a software start-up, laughing at myself, riding my bike, walking my dog, doing yoga, chewing 3 pieces of gum at once, on my motorcycle, doing psychic readings (yes, you read that correctly). Sometimes I just dont know what the hell I am doing, but I do know that there is no wrong in following your heart. And doing this, applies...
The Inspiration, Amy Ash
To me, the only thing really worthwile in life is the creative expression of love in the form of caring, sharing, kindness, forgiveness and acceptance - all sprinkled on top with lots of fun and laughter. So awhile back, Jules and I had been brainstorming on ways that we could contribute something positive to the world - a project of sorts that would somehow help people. One night, I walked into her house and saw the paintings that she had made and said, “Jules, this is it!”. And so, the High Heart Project began. I love art, a good cause, positive messages and a killer t-shirt - so it actually works quite nicely.
The Glue, Diva Olvera
if I had to narrow it down my passions are helping people and living art.
So here I am being myself and uniting with this fabulous organization
thats sole purpose is to help people through art. Hurray!
Please do think of me as "Glue".
Whatever sticks to me, becomes a part of me and Spreading Love it is.
